Obelisk Beach, Middle Head, Sydney. How long will it be legal?
Only three really legal nude beaches around the harbour of Sydney and no other legal ones, at the moment.
So, law-breaking people have now brought the situation to the point where it looks as though Obelisk Beach could soon lose its status of legal nude beach.
With the spread of the internet, it is no longer the case that a little beach, hidden behind bushes, at Middle Head, Sydney, is a quiet, almost secret place where visitors choose to wear no textile.
Sadly it seems that authorities believe that legal nude beaches need bushes.
Sadly people who want to indulge in illegal sexual activities seem to find those particular bushes extra attractive.
It is not hard to imagine that some reports of offensive behaviour will have been exaggerated to the 'the cause' (In the way the nudists were made to lose Reef Beach) but it is still such a pity that genuine naturists are, once again, being disadvantaged.
It is a worry that it would seem that illegal activity near 'textile' beaches would be stamped on in a different way than such activity near legal nude beaches.
Naturists want to be protected from these people not tarred with the same brush.
It used to be a fun slogan, something like Save Water! Shower with a friend.
Were people to do that, they would not immediately be classified as being associated with law-breakers.
I have been told that it was actually Obelisk Beach, with it great view of the harbour was the original 'family' beach for naturists. What went wrong?

Can't blame the council. They need to respond.
Smoke free and, it seems, soon to be naturist-free. Are there still any people out there who care about this development? Are there any plans to prevent this?
